This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 691624
The installation is located on the fair halls in Wels, Austria and went into operation in May 2011. The system consists of nearly 3400 m² CPC-ETC collectors and represents a thermal power of approx. 2 MW. Now monitoring results are available attesting excellent performance of the installation.
The Monitoring is carried out by ASIC (Austria Solar Invention Center) and includes solar radiance, thermal energy flows and several temperatures. After two months for completing and implementing of the monitoring system, now satisfactory results for one year of operation are available:

Interesting details concerning frost protection over wintertime can be shown:

The solar system feeds into the network at least at 85 °C all year. The monitored solar yield was accurate 1302 MWh per year (about 1300 MWh expexted). Active frost protection needed just 12 MWh (respectively 1 %) of low temperature heat yearly (about 50 MWh where expected). The solar system was ordered by the local utilities „Elektrizitätswerke Wels“, installed by “MEA Solar GmbH” and planned and commissioned by Ritter XL Solar GmbH.
