The bio energy village Büsingen and the solar thermal district Crailsheim have been awarded prices for the 2013/2014 initiative ‘House. Houses. District. – living in a sustainable way’ at the Urban Planning Congress of the Baden-Württemberg Building Association ARGE.

On 14 November 2014, the initiative ‘House. Houses. District – living in a sustainable way’ came to its conclusion with the Urban Planning Congress of the Baden-Württemberg Building Association ARGE in Stuttgart. Projects using energy resources and area in an efficient way have been awarded prices, representing in global more than 60 000 €.
Among the 20 successful construction projects dealing with construction and refurbishment of districts, two are solar district heating projects. On the one hand, the bio energy village Büsingen, which covers its energy demand since 2013 with local renewable energies including solar thermal. On the other hand, the refurbished residential district of Crailsheim, which reaches high solar fractions in the heat supply thanks to large collector areas and a long-term seasonal storage.
