Germany’s largest solar district heating plant soon in Senftenberg
With 8 300 m², the solar district heating plant of Senftenberg will be the largest in Germany and the largest evacuated tube collector plant in the world. The plant will be built within the next six months.

The solar thermal plant will produce heat at a minimum temperature of 85°C and will feed it decentrally in the city’s district heating network. The network itself is used as storage. The 1 680 evacuated-tube collectors will be delivered by Ritter Solar XL, also responsible for the design and control strategy of the plant.

In the next six months, the plant will be mounted on a vegetated former waste disposal site with a specific technique for large plants already experimented in the Bioenergy villages Büsingen and Neuerkirch-Külz.
