Ritter XL Solar is finalist of the German Industry’s Innovation Award 2010 („Innovationspreis der Deutschen Wirtschaft“).
The decision about the award winners will be made by a board of trustees which members are famous personalities from business and sciences. The winner of the German Industry’s Innovation Award, under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Research, Dr. Annette Schavan, will be honoured February 19th 2011 at a gala in Frankfurt/Main. This and several other awards and nominations promise the youngest company of the Ritter Group an outstanding start.
Award-winning were XL Solar thermal systems with CPC evacuated tube collectors, water as a heat transfer fluid, control systems with integrated function control as well as valve free collector fields with automated hydraulic alignment, an entire concept, „... that could overcome the technical barriers of conventional solar thermal systems and demonstrates the currently most cost-efficient, profitable and safest way of using solar energy...“.
Since the application and utilization of this technology in 2006, there were already over 150 XL Solar thermal systems with a collector area of 20,000 m² installed, among them also several of the biggest evacuated tube collector plants in the world. The biggest evacuated tube collector plant for district heating worldwide with a gross collector area of 3,373 m² is being installed on the roof of the Convention Centre Wels in Austria currently.
