Municipal housing company EKSTA Bostads AB has built solar heated building areas since the early 1980’s. The new area built in Vallda Heberg 2012-2013 comprises rented apartments in multifamily buildings, single family buildings and a home for elder people. All buildings have a low heat demand, dish and cloth washers are connected to the hot water system and the heat supply is based on a local wood pellet heating plant combined with solar collectors. The solar systems are designed to cover about 40% of the total heat demand using close to 600 m² roof integrated flat plate collectors and 100 m² evacuated tube collectors with increased tilt on the heating plant.
Save the date! The 5th International Solar District Heating Conference will take place on 11 and 12 April 2018 in Graz, Austria.
